The new 7 wonders of the world
There were 7 wonders of the Ancient World. They were declared in 200 BC by the Greek engineer Philon of Byzantium who was impressed by their size and fantasy. Now 2200 years later we’re choosing the new 7 wonders of the world to honor this tradition, select and declare the new 7 wonder's of the world, symbols of humanity's greatest achievements. This is the people’s choice! Many monuments should be saved from the dangerous state of decay. That's why at the end of 2005, 21 candidates were chosen from 77 nominees that had earned the most votes, and these 21 are now in the final stage of the competition. All structures are built or discovered before the year 2000. The New 7 Wonders of the World will be announced during the Official Declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday, July 7, 2007 - 07.07.07. The world will join together to celebrate the New 7 Wonders of the World, as chosen by the people all over the world using modern communications technology. It’s your chance to be a part of history. You can choose!
